Supplementary Procedures
Battery Start

BATTERY START - IF EXTERNAL POWER/APU IS NOT AVAILABLE

Accomplish the normal EXTERIOR INSPECTION and COCKPIT PREPARATION procedure to Electrical power……………….ESTABLISH

Leave APU GEN switch in the OFF position.

Note: Ground air source must be used.

Right Hydraulic Electric Pump Switch ........... ON
Engine Ignition Selector ....................... 1 or 2
Pack Control Selectors ..........................OFF

Note: Pack valves, if not closed during previous airplane shutdown, must be closed by ground crew prior to engine start.

Isolation Valve Switch...........................ON
Speedbrake Lever.................................DOWN
Forward Thrust Lever.............................CLOSE
Reverse Thrust Lever.............................DOWN
Flap Lever.......................................SET

Position flap lever to agree with flap position.

Park Brake.......................................SET
Fuel Control Switches............................CUTOFF
Left Audio Selector Panel........................SET

Start one engine using standby engine indicator (SEI). Observe EGT start limit (570° C).

Note: The SEI EGT Placard limit reads 850 °C which is the maximum EGT limit for an in-flight start, following a Dual Engine failure.

Continue normal PREFLIGHT procedures.
